For anyone learning the finer points of jumping, brightly coloured cavaletti poles are an absolute necessity. 

The standard length of pole – which comes as four component parts – is 2.4 metres; however, as the screw-together components are interchangeable, the pole can be lengthened, or shortened, as required in 600 mm increments.

Should sufficient vertical load be applied to the pole by the horse, the pole is designed to breakaway at one of the junctions of a pole component body and its formed screw end –so, if a mishap occurs, particularly when using the higher keyhole jumpstands no injury should be caused to horse or rider.
